Week of December 4 – 8, 2023

Hello Kincaid Families!

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th Grade Classroom Spelling Bee Winners! We wish these finalists the best of luck this Friday at the school-wide Spelling Bee! This event will be live streamed so parents can watch from home or work!

MORNING DROP OFF

Please do not drop off your children in the bus port lanes to avoid the carpool lane in the mornings.  Please use our upper parking lot if you are running late or need to come in with your student.  Cars should not be parked in the bus port during arrival time.  It makes it difficult for the busses to leave.  Thank you!

THIS WEEKEND
KINCAID CHORUS PERFORMANCE

The Kincaid Chorus will be performing at 12:00 noon, on Saturday at Christmas @ Piedmont. Come on out for this family event! See the Kincaid chorus among orchestra, and band performances, dance troupes, inflatable jumpies, crafters offering hand-made gifts for purchase, and the only Snow Tube slide in Cobb County!

Visit https://www.cobbk12.org/page/294/employment to register for the job fair event closest to you!

NEIGHBORHOOD BUS CAROLING
DECEMBER 12

Mr. Bush and a team of teacher volunteers are doing it again! A bus full of Kincaid Choristers will be traveling through our community neighborhoods to bring smiles and cheer through their lovely voices. This tradition began during COVID times when we were unable to have guests in our school. This event was so touching that it has continued for several years now. More information about the times and routes will be shared.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

*******************************************************************

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AT KINCAID

Birthday treats can be pre-ordered through the café only by using this order link. Do not send in treats, balloons, or party invitations for select students.  Use Membership Toolkit to contact other families about birthday parties

Parents can also have their child’s birthday displayed on the school marquee using this order link.

*******************************************************************

CREATE A BOOK TOGETHER

Make a handmade book together by putting blank pages together and adding construction paper for the cover.  You and your child could write a series of books, documenting family memories and funny stories.  Ask your child to contribute, in whatever way appropriate, to the writing and illustrations.  Discuss appropriate titles and create a collection of “books” for your family bookshelf.

FROM THE KINCAID FOUNDATION…

$12.50 IS ALL IT WILL TAKE!!!

Hello Kincaid Families!

We wanted to update you on the Family Investment Campaign (which directly funds all of our PTA initiatives throughout the year – Celebration of the Arts, International Day, Teacher Appreciation Week to name a few).

We have raised $4378 towards our $7500 goal.

Thank you to those who have already donated!! However, that’s only 15% of our school community participating – we are striving for 100%!!

For those who haven’t donated yet, all that is needed from each family is $12.50 and we will reach our goal!!! Your support is CRUCIAL to provide all the extras at Kincaid. Please consider giving (at any amount) so we can keep investing in our kids at the highest level!
