Kincaid will take the new Georgia School Climate Survey this year. Each parent or guardian is invited to take the family version to answer questions about the current school or schools you have a child or children attending. If two or more children attend the same school, please only complete one survey for that school.

The survey measures what you think about how the school engages with families. Answers are not linked to names in any way. When typing answers, please do not give names or information that you don’t want to share with this school. Data will be shared with school leaders to help improve the school and will be published on the GaDOE website.

Our latest contribution to Kincaid Elementary…..iPads in the Art Classroom!!!

Adding iPads to the Kincaid Visual Arts Program greatly supports the district’s CTLS Visual Arts platform with Cobb’s new Digital Portfolio Appendage. Cobb’s Digital Portfolio creates a space for students to compile, classify, and record their visual arts progress from elementary through high school.

At Kincaid, students are using the new iPads to:

• use apps like Procreate, Adobe Fresco, or Sketchbook and other graphic design programs
• learn animation, photo editing, and digital painting
• complete reflections and artist statements on finished pieces
• integrate the Arts with STEM and Music curriculum
• create cross-disciplinary projects, in areas such as: science (e.g., anatomy drawing), history (historical art recreations), or language arts (visual storytelling)
• apply 21st-century skills (creativity, problem-solving, communication, and technology use)
• access personalized learning and diverse tools for students with different needs

NEW YEAR …
NEW ART/STEM OUTDOOR PATIO!

Thanks to the Kincaid Foundation, Kincaid will be expanding our space for all students to conduct STEM activities and to have an outdoor area for creativity and art. During STEM and Art classes, our 5th grade students will create planters for the patio as a legacy project for the school. We hope to have the outdoor studio available to students next month! We are grateful for how the Kincaid Foundation supports updates at our school and funds our PTA/Family events!

Our latest contribution to Kincaid Elementary…..iPads in the Art Classroom!!!

Adding iPads to the Kincaid Visual Arts Program greatly supports the district’s CTLS Visual Arts platform with Cobb’s new Digital Portfolio Appendage. Cobb’s Digital Portfolio creates a space for students to compile, classify, and record their visual arts progress from elementary through high school.

At Kincaid, students are using the new iPads to:

• use apps like Procreate, Adobe Fresco, or Sketchbook and other graphic design programs
• learn animation, photo editing, and digital painting
• complete reflections and artist statements on finished pieces
• integrate the Arts with STEM and Music curriculum
• create cross-disciplinary projects, in areas such as: science (e.g., anatomy drawing), history (historical art recreations), or language arts (visual storytelling)
• apply 21st-century skills (creativity, problem-solving, communication, and technology use)
• access personalized learning and diverse tools for students with different needs

Hello Cougar Nation!

Over the past month, our hearts have been filled as we were able to celebrate the many cultures that make up Kincaid, during International Night, celebrate veterans in our community, host our families for a math game night, and host kindergarten and 5th grade families for a special lunch. This Friday is Substitute Appreciation Day, and we will carry on the appreciation to those who are here for our teachers to keep things rolling during a time of need. It’s not easy!

During the season of Thanksgiving, I want to extend a sincere note of appreciation to our volunteers and families who support Kincaid. We just received a check for $263 on behalf of Kincaid families who ordered Papa John’s during the fundraising week. Your support, time, smiles and word of encouragement mean to the world to us, as we are on a mission to Reach, Inspire, Support and Engage our students – every day!

SATURDAY IS THE FUN RUN!!

The annual Kincaid Fun Run is Saturday, November 8th! The Fun Run is a 1 mile run for the students of Kincaid. The road will be closed at 7:50 a.m. in preparation for the first race. Cars will be able to park and leave in-between each race. T-shirts may be picked up starting at 7:15 a.m.

The timeline of the races and grade levels are as follows: 

• Kindergarten and 1st Grade: 8:40 a.m. 
• 4th and 5th Grade: 8 a.m. 
• 2nd and 3rd Grade: 8:20 a.m.
