Week of October 2 – 6, 2023

Happy Fall Kincaid Families!

We are excited to welcome your student back on Monday! We are returning to a busy week of appreciation! Monday is Custodian Appreciation Day. We are thankful to Mr. Rodney and Ms. Martha who work tirelessly to keep our building beautiful!

This week is also Public Safety Appreciation Week. We are thankful to have Officer Hicks, who walks our building everyday. Officer Hicks has great relationships with the students and is always a moment away when we need him.

There is nothing for the students do to prepare for these assessments, except to get a restful night of sleep, and have a good breakfast. We just want everyone to try their best! We will let you know when test scores will be available to parents in ParentVUE.

SIMPSON SUPPORTS KINDNESS – Simpson Middle School has extended an invitation to our 5th grade students and families to a Family Engagement Night, featuring David Flood. Mr. Flood is a Top Youth Speaker, who will discuss compassion and respect for ourselves and those around us. He will speak passionately about his experiences as a father, a hospice volunteer, and growing up in a household full of challenges. His approach with students centers on care for themselves and for their peers, encouraging them to reach out to trusted adults within the school; and for caregivers to help support their students in implementing these positive behaviors at school and at home. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AT KINCAID

Birthday treats can be pre-ordered through the café only by using this order link. Do not send in treats, balloons, or party invitations for select students.  Use Membership Toolkit to contact other families about birthday parties

Parents can also have their child’s birthday displayed on the school marquee using this order link.

PICK BOOKS AT THE RIGHT LEVEL

Help your child pick books that are not too difficult. The aim is to give your child lots of successful reading experiences. Allowing your child to have a choice and voice in what the books he/she chooses will brighten up any reading experience.  There are plenty of opportunities for children to have reading instruction at challenging levels within the school setting.  Make home a place where reading can be celebrated and fun.  If you need ideas for great titles, email Mrs. Letendre at marnia.letendre@cobbk12.org! She has so many titles she would love to share!
