March 19

Week of March 20 – 24, 2023

Greetings Cougar Nation!

We just completed Quarter 3 of the school year and report cards will be visible online to parents through ParentVUE on Wednesday.

In preparing for next year, I always like to provide parents the opportunity to give feedback about their child for consideration in placement for the next year. Requests for specific teachers are not accepted. Please know that whether you submit feedback or not, a great deal of care is put into creating our classrooms to meet all student needs.

If you would like to provide feedback, please complete this survey by May 5th.

IT’S SHOW WEEK!!!

Our talented Mr. Bush has a reputation of directing and producing the most amazing theatrical shows every year…starring our very own Kincaid students!

This year, Moana is expected to be the best show in 18 years! Get your tickets now! We are expecting a sell out. All ticket sales will go through showtix4u.com.  No cash for tickets at the door.

APRIL 8th

This year there will be two egg hunts specifically for special needs children at the Northeast Cobb Community Egg Hunt on April 8 at Sprayberry High School.  The hunts will be at noon and 2:00 in the end zone of the main football field.  Please arrive early to secure parking and register.  If children would like to see eggs dropped on the football field by a helicopter, that will happen at 11:30 and 1:30.  There will be ample eggs for everyone, so please come join in the fun! All money raised from this event will be given to Kincaid and other local schools.

EVALUATING INFORMATION:
FACT VS. FICTION

One of the first skills in developing information literacy is being able to tell the difference between fact and opinion. A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false. An opinion is an expression of a person’s feelings that cannot be proven. An awareness of the difference can be developed through questions and conversations. Engage your child in conversation using the words “fact” and “opinion” and have him identify statements of both types. For example, “Chocolate chip cookies are the best kind of cookie.” “Mommy has dark brown eyes.” “School should be cancelled on sunny days.” “There are 12 months in a year.”
